The Cooke County Commissioners Court meets approximately on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 10:00 AM in the 1st-floor courtroom of the Cooke County Courthouse, 101 S Dixon St, Gainesville, TX 76240. Special-call sessions occur as needed.
Agendas are posted on the county website at https://www.co.cooke.tx.us. Meeting recordings are available on the Cooke County YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/cookecountytexas1848.
Meeting minutes are not posted in the online agenda system. They are approved retroactively as a consent item and are available through the County Clerk's public records portal at govrec.com/home/cookecotx.
Cooke County's primary governing body is the Commissioners Court, consisting of the County Judge and four Precinct Commissioners. The county also has the Ray Roberts Planning & Zoning Commission for the Ray Roberts Lake area. Note: Texas counties have no general zoning authority; the P&Z commission handles subdivision regulations in that specific area.
